Official badged SXSW event http://schedule.sxsw.com/2014/events/event_IAP25100 As the most successful startup meetup in Austin, SXSW had approached us to hold a session about how to start and run a meetup. Since this is an official SXSW event, you need a badge which is out of our control. Perhaps you already have a meetup, searching for ways to grow the member base; perhaps you are planning on founding a meetup group. Let's get together and discuss what makes a meetup successful and drives members. We will be exchanging experiences on how to identify the components necessary to found, grow, and operate a successful technology meetup group: - How do you get started? - How do you find members? - Finding a winning recipe. - How to find a venue? - How to finance your meetup? - Opportunities to profit making? - How to find and organize helpers? Stefan is the co-organizer of the Co-founders Austin Meetup, which grew within 4 years to 1,900 members - one of the largest in the US. The Co-founders Meetup is a non-profit monthly pitch and networking event driving each month 100+ co-founders to come together. Out of the experience with the Co-founders Meetup, we built the TechMap, a free targeted member platform, available to meetups globally. Please note, that clicking on "I am attending" is not an admission to this SXSW session. This is an official SXSW badged event: http://schedule.sxsw.com/2014/events/event_IAP25100 We cannot get you a free badge, but perhaps we can answer your questions: [masked]

We will be meeting in the Boggy Creek Greenbelt at one of the picnic tables there. I will try to get one of the tables nearest the restrooms. In the event of inclement weather, we will meet under the covered pavilion nearby. After about 30 minutes, we will head down to nearby East Side Pies for some of their awesome pizza. The meeting location and East Side Pies are both pet-friendly, so you may bring your pet along if you like. Satellite View of the Boggy Creek Greenbelt
